A Monthly Space for Care Partners to Connect, Learn, and Feel Supported

At KOPI, we know that Parkinson’s affects more than the person living with the diagnosis. It also impacts the spouses, partners, and caregivers who walk alongside them every day. That’s why Partners of Parkinson’s exists: to create a welcoming monthly space where care partners can learn, ask questions, share experiences, and find encouragement in community. The program includes both speaker-led sessions and open table talk gatherings designed specifically for those supporting a loved one with Parkinson’s.

One of the things that makes Partners of Parkinson’s so meaningful is the variety of topics it offers. Recent sessions have explored Parkinson’s research opportunities and caregiver support services, physical therapy strategies for balance and movement, wellness and balance coaching, aging and memory care, nutrition and emotional well-being, legal planning, and Parkinson’s medications. Guest speakers have included healthcare professionals, wellness experts, community resource specialists, and pharmacy students, all bringing practical guidance that care partners can use in everyday life.

Just as important, not every session is a formal presentation. Some gatherings are centered on conversation, giving spouses, partners, and caregivers time to sit together, reflect honestly, ask questions, and support one another. These open table talks create room for something many care partners need but do not always get enough of: the chance to be heard, understood, and reminded that they are not alone.

That balance of education and connection is at the heart of Partners of Parkinson’s. Caregiving can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be exhausting, emotional, and isolating. Having a consistent monthly place to gather with others who understand the journey can make a real difference.

Partners of Parkinson’s meets on the second Tuesday of every month. If you are supporting a loved one with Parkinson’s, this is a place for you. For more details, contact knockoutparkinsons815@gmail.com
